Priya Bhardwaj is a Senior Scientist in Dr. Naomi Dirckx’s lab, specializing in bone biology and metabolic regulation. Her research focuses on the role of citrate and the transporter SLC13A5 in bone mineralization, uncovering mechanisms critical to bone strength and quality.
Previously, she worked on the role of overexpression of ADGRG2 in parathyroid glands and its impact on calcium homeostasis. She has also contributed to research on G-protein-coupled receptors and Ca-PTH signaling, advancing the understanding of skeletal health and endocrine regulation. Her work bridges gaps in bone biology to improve treatments for metabolic bone diseases like osteoporosis.
She earned her PhD in Science from the University of Rajasthan, India, where her research focused on the anti-carcinogenic effects of Nerium indicum in skin papillomagenesis. This strong foundation in molecular biology and translational research continues to shape her approach to advancing discoveries in skeletal health.
